2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel
2507 stainless steel is a super duplex stainless steel with a balanced austenitic-ferritic microstructure, designed for superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Its high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content, combined with nitrogen strengthening, provides outstanding mechanical strength and durability, even in aggressive chloride-rich environments. This grade is widely used in chemical processing, oil and gas, desalination plants, marine engineering, and other demanding industrial applications where both corrosion resistance and structural integrity are critical. It is supplied in round bar form under standards such as ASTM A276/A479. In offshore and subsea applications where 2205 duplex stainless steel falls short on chloride resistance, 2507 super duplex delivers the higher PREN rating needed for long-term reliability in seawater and sour gas service.
