Industry Application

Energy

We operate in demanding energy environments where reliability, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature performance are critical. Our systems depend on advanced stainless steel to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous energy production.

Problem to Material Route

Energy infrastructure spans high-temperature combustion, cooling systems and chemical injection — each section carries different corrosion and thermal loading that requires separate material evaluation.

316L is commonly specified for cooling water pipework, condensate handling and chemical injection lines where moderate corrosion resistance is required. 2205 may be considered for structural components in geothermal or offshore energy applications where chloride exposure accompanies mechanical loads. 321 is sometimes used where moderate thermal cycling is involved alongside process fluid contact. 310S is reserved for the highest-temperature static components where oxidation resistance is the primary requirement.

Operating Risk

Chloride-assisted stress corrosion cracking in pressurised cooling systems above 60°C, oxidation scaling on unstabilised grades above their service temperature limit, sensitisation from thermal cycling in the 450–850°C range

Operating Context

Industry Overview

In the energy industry, we face some of the most extreme operating conditions on earth—high pressure, elevated temperatures, corrosive media, and continuous mechanical stress. Every component must perform without compromise. That's why we rely on advanced stainless steel, engineered to withstand harsh environments in power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy, and industrial energy systems. From upstream extraction to downstream processing and power conversion, material integrity directly impacts safety, efficiency, and operational lifespan.
